Pros & Cons
Pros
Strongly recommend to anyone in the same predicament. Seems to be a sturdy elastic cord. However, i wish it is more stretchy.
The cord size is slightly thinner than the original one. Much less expensive to fix than replace.
Cons
The cord i received is only 3/32 in diameter. What was delivered is a 2 pack of 11 foot shock cord, clearly stated on the package. This is totally useless for applications where i need real 3/16.
Highlights
Quality
Easy to restring my tent poles and this item is good quality.
The quality of elastic in the waistbands of boxer shorts and sports shorts is appalling these days.
After about 10 uses over 5 years they lost all elasticity.
Cord broke in one of the poles.
Price
About 25$ less than going through big agnes.
Much less expensive to fix than replace.
Shipping
Once i received, took me 15 minutes to restring.
Packaging/appearance
The package was 18 feet, but with preload tension, i did not need even 16 feet.
Competitiveness
The elastic sold in sewing stores is no better so i looked for an alternative.
$7ish of cord is way better than hundreds on a new tent.
