Scabbard is well made. Nice seamless steel cover on the bottom third of the sheath that is blued like the blade. The sheath is what impressed me the most! Even has a matching sheath.

Black grease must be carefully removed with a microfiber/soft cloth to reveal any blemishes. Came sharp out of the box. Took 2 screwdrivers to tighten them down real good and haven't had a problem since. It's a slicer and a dicer.

The 1917 frontier bowie sword is another fine example of the newest badass knife company in the last fifty years.

The bluing is really good, like the deep blue/black on a s&w revolver. The blued blade and guard are stunningly beautiful. The blueing reminds me of the colts and s&amps;w of years ago, it is stunning!

Cons

The knife was shipped in its sheath and had brown spots on the blade. The clip is not sharpened; it is not even close enough to sharp to take a stone to it.

Very sturdy it’s a great tool for whatever you need.

The knife is beautiful it feels incredibly rugged, everything is firm, no rattle ,no slip, and it is huge!

The finish grind was not done and i did not have the time to be messing with sharping a new knife that should of come finished.

Poor quality control, blade grind uneven with chips of bluing missing on blade and chipped on metal end of sheath.

Price

I had been waiting to get this one for a while and once the price went down low enough i jumped on it and i'm glad i did.

This knife was a bargain at $110, and i would call it a cold steal.

But the 1917 bowie seemed just right given the price point.

Packaging/appearance

Like many others have said, it comes decently packed, and met my expectations.

Built beautifully came out of the box.

It came covered in grease that i would not clean off.

Competitiveness

$100 dollars less than the original manufacturers website, you can't go wrong, hence the 5 star rating!

I included a pic of a few different cold steel blades for size comparisons

I added a k-bar to one picture just for size comparisons that is a full size ka-bar not the big brother.
