Pros & Cons
Pros
Comes razor sharp out of the box. Edge retention is great. It slices great.
I like the cold steel so much, that it has replaced the manix 2xl, as my edc. Will take beating and last forever and cannot be beat at the price point.
Top bar lock system is intuitive, you have to pull it up instead of push down. Easy to open and shut like a axis lock, ball bearing lock, and compression lock. Keep your finger on the spring and gently pry out with a tiny flat head.
This is a real cs blade and it is the 2020 black g-10 version. While i personally don't like original green that it came out in, this one is a much nicer version. Fun knife to flick around.
The grip is ergonomic, and the texture from a gripping standpoint is excellent, even when your hands are wet or sweaty. The texture is aggressive enough there is no slippage with wet hands. My hands take extra large gloves so this handle crowded my fin... Read More
Cons
While its amusing to fidget with its simply doesn't bring any value to the blade. The swiveling part of the blade sticks out about 1/4 due to the locking mechanism.
Highlights
Quality
Big solid build, cool esthetics, s35vn blade, and a novel (to me) scorpion blade lock system….
Built like a tank, fun and precise action, quality steel and fit.
The lock mechanism takes some getting used to but is solid and unlike the compression lock there is no way to misplace your thu... Read More

Price
I was very close to purchasing an expensive ($250.
I think 154$ is too much for this knife, i got it for 134$ back in fall of 2021.
I consider that unforgivable especially for how overpriced they have become.

Shipping
The ad-15 quickly took over as my main carry knife.
Packaging/appearance
Only half the order was in the package
Competitiveness
I own a few cold steel knives and can say the s35vn heat treatment is far better than spyderco who runs them too hard.
I compared my $160 benchmade presidio ultra ii to the $99 cold steel ad-15 and the ad-15 held its own very well once you unders... Read More
I compared it to a "recon 1" (same steel) and would guesstimate that this knife is 2-3x sharper.
The code 4 is the sharpest of any knife straight out from the manufacturer, i bought 3 of them and all are sharper than razors.

It is probably the strongest lock you will ever find on a folding knife but its kind of awkward to release to fold the blade back in

Different from every other knife

The locking mechanism is unique so it took a minute to get comfortable with one handed operation but once i figured it out the knife became super fidgety

Cold steel is known for extremely tough knives and this is no different

Mostly spyderco but in the last few years they have released several models that will cut the user when the blade is closed

So i am putting spyderco in the rear view mirror for these reasons and their shabby release practices attempting to create a hype market by producing limited quantities etc
