Pros & Cons
Pros
Clip point glides through edc tasks due to it's grind. If you're not a softie and going to complain about the big blade or pocket clip, this knife is definitely for you.
It was a bit gritty at first but a little dab of grease on the lock and this thing runs like a dream. Retains an edge, yes. A razor edge. It opens smooth after a drop of 3in1 and working it for awhile.
The blade closes dead center with good detent, and locks back with a very distinct snap. The locking mechanism is very strong. The knife closes down where your fingers would be, but there's a little mechanism to stop the blade froma ctually hitting yo... Read More
The triad lock mechanism is amazing! Some the tri-ad lock lock up feature is a tad stiff to disengage at first. The knife has some heft to it so i have no concerns about it not being up to the tasks i throw at it.
Cons
The chisel grind is so uneven that even with precision angle sharpening and literally weeks of work, one bevel is a full millimeter wider than the other. I'm not sure it it's a real recon tanto because the logo doesn't match the logo on amazon or the ... Read More
Handles are smooth and textured but feel unsubstantial. If you wear size xl gloves the finger groves seem to be sized for a child. The thumb stud is smaller on that side making it more difficult to open one handed. The screw is not comfortable at all ... Read More
When the blade is in the folded position it is loose and does not stay in the handle securely. Although the blade doesn't scrape against the scale, it is right up against it. Sometimes it looks like the blade may be warped.
A lot of these knives have defective locks and exchanging those for another may get you a good one. Worst part is since the company is going down hill faster then a jet powered skier there's no point in trying to get it fixed.
Highlights
Quality
The best medium edc blade for serious use and carry comfort.
It's made well with good materials, i recommend it.
Most of the knives i have are drop points, and i wanted something new, and a large knife.
If you trip the lock one handed, it wants to almost spring closed and it is razor sharp and will take your finger tips off.
Price
They had it for like 30% cheaper, so i ordered one.
Competitiveness
Outside of that, the overall build is akin to other cold steels from amazon.

Butthe one gripe i have with this knife is that it’s extremely dangerous to close with one hand

So this is a two handed close knife until you carefully practice for a while

Also doesn’t open when you pull from pocket which is a feature of many of their knives

Id say they should add the one from the kukri rajah ii as it doesn’t tear up your pockets like the tilite and it would open on pull

Then it would be a great knife for defense because i can’t always be carrying around a giant rajah ii

But now that i have it and i can’t use it for selfdefense and i have trouble and others do too closing it onehanded it can’t get 5 stars
