Pros

If it's a windy day, i stake down the four corners of the tarp using the stakes that came with the tent. If it is windy, you definitely want to put the rain tarp on. Stand up the poles and attach the tent to them.

Was an easy, quick setup. Sturdy and super easy to set up. Holds the tent up and prevents it from collapsing in on itself.

Skydome tent is pretty roomy for our needs (2 adults and big dog) light weight (not backpacking lightweight, but lighter than average), roomy enough for 2 people and their kit. Camped 2 adults, 70lbs dog/crate and plenty of space to move about.

Door size makes it easy to move an air mattress in and out freely. My only complaint- the zipper for the door gets caught on the little zipper flap.

Cons

The walls of this tent are mesh, except for the bottom waterproof edge. This means that you have no privacy in your tent unless you have the rainfly on. The material is so cheap just packing it back up into the box in the soft grass out at least one m... Read More

Not enough material, stitching seems like it will break at some point. Has to tie pole to tent with a strap since the cheesiest little plastic piece broke. Was missing one of two grommets for rain-sill support pole.

For the price, this is a great tent!

I wanted to get into the hobby cheap, but not so cheap as to ruin the experience.

This is worth the money and then some.

Competitiveness

Comparing this tent to a tent i bought at walmart for around the same price, this tent is much better quality.

I have since replaced this tent with a far more expensive, far heavier, and roomier tent for my 2nd season.

As for the features, it is right there with similarly priced dome tents.
