You either open it all the way or it shuts off

Regardless of how little wind there is i even tried it inside a cabin as soon as you turn it one notch below fully on it shuts off

The included base for this gas stove will accommodate both styles of standard lp bottles however stability is compromised for the short more round bottles because it can only fit into the base about 38”

Also the design does is not impervious to strong winds nor does it indicate when the next step down will put out the flame
