Pros
The blade is sharp enough to cut through softer woods. It's not impossible to cut yourself with the blade, but it's such a fine tooth blade that the occasional finger slip won't result in a trip to the emergency room. Our grandson loves it.

This toy is real wood cutting and has versatile set of tools that work.
Three days later and he’s shaping the rods, drilling holes, drawing patterns in the wooden sheets and cutting them out with the saw.
The first lasted 6 years of projects before we burned out the motor.
Price
The price on amazon seems fine, i believe i paid more thru an educational catalog.
I suspect there are cheap knockoffs of this product out there for cheaper but for just over $100 usd this was worth the price.

The table saw blade was capped and well protected for little hands!

If you order this go ahead and have extra lathe tools ordered as it only comes with one and have extra sanding heads as well

It doesnt have a ton of power i dont think most kids would hurt themselves with some light supervision

On the downside the lathe cuts tiny grooves and thus takes a long time to cut much wood away

You have to hold the wood panel on the tiny cutting table or it will flap up and down

A young kid may try to turn the wood without also moving the wood need to cut curves
