Pros

In the northern california valley, the summer sun is intense. Temps are often over 100 deg f in the summer. These shades almost completely block the sun and keep the porch shaded and much cooler.

These coolaroo shades are just as they were advertised. These shades can be customized for size at home. Would definitely recommend.

Cons

Shades were cut incorrectly and took over 6 weeks to get here. The shade and device seem to work fine so by pickle is not with the product itself.

What engineering idiot puts plastic on the receiver end. Dah, metal. The design of the mounting bracket makes it nearly impossible to place a screwdriver or a drill bit to drive the screws into the wall.

Good quality material both shade and crank.

The first one has been up for over a year (even through the winter) and still looks and works great.

Read the screw-screw distance and make a mark and put up both ends and the shade snaps right in.

They are nice but feel the material could be made to deflect more heat.

Price

We have three of these (adding them as we could afford to across our glass-walled back living room).

They are even cheaper now than when i bought them :p will 100% buy more when i need it.
