The cowling works wonderfully to prevent air from spewing all over.

The tx-3 and tx-4 don't have any of these 3 features and use a noisy, inefficient standard fan.
Competitiveness
I have owned a few other non-factory heatsinks.
Usually one of the lowest price cpu heatsinks.
Maybe the big humungous newer heatsinks will keep things cooler.

Its very quiet and the intel or amd specific versions can run as low as 500 rpm

Sure my computer still heats up but whos computer doesnt heat up unless you have a really good water cooling system in it
