Do not push down the top of the peg until you are sure that the bottom part is fully in its hole

If you do it will lock but not to the motherboard and you will have to start again

This is currently cooling an socket 775 intel q9550 tdp 90 watts so not a cool cpu

So it then meant taking out the psu and the motherboard etc in order to remove the housing for the cpu socket so as then to get at removing the plate holding these screw holes in the main board holes under the motherboard
