Pros & Cons
Pros
The fans come with 2 silent fan adapters; these limit the rpms to 1200 and 1600, respectively. Pvm rpm is from 800 to 2000 and it is rated at 95cfm. With the higher of the 2 adapter cables seem to be a little quieter than the fans i had in before.
The fans keep my motherboard around 27c and my processor around 32-35c. I have them set up as 4 intake and one exhaust and since my motherboard has 6 plug ups and with the bios i can control the fan speed. Got this to add to my hyper 212 evo cpu coole... Read More
These fans are awesome. It's very solidly constructed. The quality is fantastic, not light or plasticky. Great sturdy fans.
Cons
It makes grinding sounds on start up and periodically during use. If i want the sound to stop i have to crank it to 2000 rpm. I expect a rushing of air when the fans are on, not mechanical noises.
This is unacceptable. Just seized up. Not a biggie.
Fan noise is louder than your movie dialog. Too expensive for such an obnoxious sound occuring every couple of minutes.
Highlights
Quality
The quality is fantastic, not light or plasticky.
Very nice quality all around, and they have no problem moving air.
Despite being ordered 'new' 2 of the fans did not come with the right screws or either of the adapter cables.
But if you limit them with the included cables they can be brought down to acceptable levels.
Packaging/appearance
Pros:- everythingcons:- was really hard to screw in for some reason
Competitiveness
I bought this to replace the stock fan on a thermaltake contac silent 12.
I put it on a supermicro x8sil-o and it drives it just fine.
A 4 pin molex plug with a 3-pin fan connector.
