Pros & Cons
Pros
With a i7-12700k processor, at idle the cpu sits between 39-44c. One caveat is my idle temp are a bit higher compared to the aio.
I expect this threadripper-style cooler to also last 15 years. Definitely gives me a tron feel for the styling. This thing looks so slick and the rgb lighting makes it all the better.
I recommend really spending time on visualizing what you wanna do thoroughly before actually doing it because once you do, it's gonna be a huge drag to undo. Performance is good. It's categorized as a buy for me.
Rgb is addressable, not as bright as i thought it would be but that is subjective. Led color display is nice if you have a case with transparent panels. Mystic light controls it perfectly!
The mounting bracket and twin bolt system is my favorite. Being able to unmount the fan with only two screws is awesome. Installing the cooler took over an hour, when with the motherboard on a workbench. This requires you to use the 2 inch long wrench... Read More
Cons
It sounds like it's shaking or it needs to be oiled. Sounds like a miniature helicopter engine winding up when it spools to max speed.
Not going to do an exchange as don't have time to replace again and uncovered cpu corners is too concerning. Sent a support ticket to cooler zero response. Won't send replacement without getting this one first despite pics.
Highlights
Quality
Overall satisfied with the fan and would recommend it but not for any cpu over 95 watts.
Hooked up to the motherboard headers, along with the five fans, you get a nice coordinated light show.
Perfectly flat, no valleys with the heat pipes like amd and other manufacturers.
The x570i mobo from asus has a heat spreader on the back which interferes with the mounting of the cooler.
Packaging/appearance
It doesnt fit straight out of the box.
Competitiveness
Much better contact surface than amds stock cooler.
It has issues and doesnt have as easy an install as a noctua cooler or even the scythe mugen 5 that it replace or the noctua x5... Read More
I would not recommend this for any higher wattage cpu's .
I put this cooler on a ryzen 9 3900x to mine it and see if i could just pay for the cooler that way.
