This base is surprisingly thick but unfortunately very cheaply made. The cable is ridiculously thin and plastic unpleasant.

I bought this product to combat the lack of ventilation that the mac mini has and i'm well and truly amazed!
This is great and keeps the laptop cool when in use.
Managed to lower average temp by almost 10 degrees and it is silent.
The coolermaster fan is little louder than expected but the dull whirr of the larger single blade soon becomes unnoticeable to my ears.

You can hear the fan but it is not oppressive

The cooler fan is not silent but it is quiet and the sound is more like a traditional desktop fan hum constant low frequency and far less intrusive

But more importantly it does a great job of cooling it as the vents are stupidly underneath the laptop a flaw for many modern pcs

However it does raise the laptop as high as i could possible use it some people may find it is too high

I have recently purchased a 2018 mac mini for graphic design photography editing purposes i have noticed for a while the computer itself can get quite hot which obviously could cause it to overheat and eventually kill it
