It's basically a slab of metal and that's why it is higher on the price range. Only issue is because it has a hard surface on the top the edge of the pad is a little sharper than i would have liked.
Corsair mm600 is close to a perfect replacement for the sx. The hard surface definitely removes my biggest gripes with traditional mousepads. The mousepad itself is great, especially for $25.

No more irregular or skipping like movements as with the soft mats.
The kind of quality one can come to expect from corsair products.
I'm starting with the rougher side to get use to it.
Packaging/appearance
The paper edges of the packaging are very sharp, so be careful when opening this product!
Competitiveness
It takes a few hours to get used to, but the hard surface is much easier to use with a g502 than the cloth pads.
I use to have a steelseries hard plastic gaming pad.
Fwiw, i also hate the new icue logo.
For those who like textured/hard mouse pads, this one is a no-brainer.

If the mousepad were allblack it would have a clean subtle style but no lets put a dorky giant yellow stripe on it for no apparent reason
