As things stand, only the x570 series of boards with a 3rd generation ryzen cpu support pcie 4.
I bought the 2tb capacity and expected it to be slower - it is but not by much.

This is worth keeping in mind before you buy this drive because although it will work on other boards you wont be able to get the pcie 4

The only reason i could see to opt for a pro model right now would be if you are a videographer writing 8k media files regularly

Well the literature promises 1440 tb written which means even if you are a power user you are looking at 10 years

If youre doing intensive manipulation of large media files the higherspecification pro version of this drive might be worth considering
