Cons

Quality at corsair seems to have gone completely downhill. Qa team need sacking. Obviously there is zero quality control on the manufacturing line.

This psu is unserviceable and an idiotic decision by corsair. It had slightly melted the rgb and a 4-pin fan wire. The fans in the psu would turn on for a couple seconds then just slowly stop working.

The noise is similar to a an old fridge, a low, irregular buzz. The coil whine is really loud and annoying. It is not even a consistent coil you can tune out and is often louder than the fans.

After delving on the net to research the issue, it seems, this isn't a isolated issue on my unit but many other unfortunate buyers of this unit faced this issue. There's a very slim chance that it's something to do with my pc setup, but i have nothing... Read More

Competitiveness

You will be thankful of the extra pcie / cpu modular slots available over the 850e.

I do, however, have to take exception to their choice of cabling to include with the psu.
