Fan Control
Customers have generally positive opinions about the fan control feature of the Corsair RM850i power supply. Some customers appreciate the ability to monitor and adjust fan speeds, while others mention that the fan is quiet out of the box but can be adjusted for added peace of mind and longer component life. However, some customers have expressed frustration with the proprietary modular cables and the need to download a separate management app.
Reliability
Customers have mixed opinions on the reliability of the Corsair RM850i power supply. While some report long term usage without issues, others have experienced sudden failures resulting in damage to their systems. The product comes with a 10-year warranty but some customers have had difficulty getting replacements and reported additional damages during replacement process.
Highlights
Quality
Everything about the psu is indicative of a high-quality reliable build.
Still running well and reliably after 4 years
66 ghz cpu and asus gt640 2gd3 graphic card combo, fleshed out with 8gb kingston hyperx max ddr3 memory.
The zero fan mode is great at keeping quiet and keeping dust out as its not sucking any in.
Price
This is the most expensive power supply i have every purchased for a computer build, but it is definitely worth the price.
I've paid twice as much for an industrial quality 850w psu of equivalent apparent quality, which only has a 5-year warranty.
A whole lot of power supply for the money
Shipping
Came packaged well and in great time.
Competitiveness
Lastly, this model, unlike the 750i, includes enough cabling and ports to support 2x pcie and 2x eps cables for beefier mobo/gpu combos.
