The corsair dock performs great and avoids this design flaw. It’s good looking, extremely versatile and will genuinely level up your computer. Is a lot for this dock, but if you have the money to spend on it, don't hesitate at all.
Cons
Corsair usually makes semi-quality products. Don't waste your time on this docking station. To date no refund has been received.
The coil whine from the device itself, not the psu, makes an unbearable high-pitched noise. It randomly disconnects 2-3 times per day on average.

It looks and feels great and sturdy.
4 stars for quality, feel, and ease-of-use.
For the last couple of months, i’ve been struggling on the tiny 13” screen of my work laptop.
The power adapter is not at the end of the plug, its in the middle of the cable (and it disconnects in 2 halves).
Price
Totally worth the cost of the dock.
5’, you’ll want to shop for active cables (quite a bit more expensive).
It was expensive imo, but well worth it.
And maybe with a lower price ;) $260 is a lot for this dock, but if you have the money to spend on it, don't hesitate at all.

Note i purchased this thru corsair's online store directly as amazon did not seem to have any new unit in stock at the time i ordered.
Packaging/appearance
The corsair tbt100 comes in a very nice retail package.
Unboxing is nice with a pull-out handle on the internal packaging that has a premium feel.
The box is printed in full color with glossy coating and an easy-to-open package.

Apparently there's a difference between usb-c and thunderbolt 3/4 compatible usb-c cables.
I don’t know if it does anything better than it’s competitors, but it’s been great for me.
At least one of those could have been another tb3.

Sometimes they do 1 type c and 1 dispalyport other times its 1 displayport and 1 hdmi
