I've been using the save return address ink stamp for over 8 year with the original ink cartridge.

Had a slight mix up with amazon's guaranteed shipping, but they rectified the situation so all is well.
Packaging/appearance
Just remove your old pad, put a few drop of the ink from the bottle onto the pad, let it soak in, and reinsert the pad into the stamp.
