If you use the oscillation feature to turn off the fan you must turn the fan selection knob to 0 and turn off the oscillation or else unplug it

I left it running for several minutes after turning the fan off and it kept oscillating the entire time

Another point while the fan looks identical to the photos here mine came with the brand name fantask on the fan and on the box not costway

No idea why thats the case or what the benefit is but im sure their marketing folks will call it a feature rather than a flaw
