Pros & Cons
Pros
This was used to repair an old sears air compressor.
The parts was packaged very good. Worked like a charm. Merry christmas to me. Originals lasted 28 years.
Follow the directions carefully when forming the new piston baffle. The new sleeve has a rolled bottom so you must remove the piston from the shaft and slide it down though the new sleeve and re-bolt.
Cons
This kit is not teflon coated which will strain the electric motor, build up heat, and cause failure of the piston ring. The true oem piston cylinder is te flon coated. This kit has a crack in it and the air is leaking out.
Highlights
Quality
Great to be able to still get get quality parts.
I was very impressed with the heavier duty chrome plated cylinder, which replaced my original plated aluminum cylinder.
Competitiveness
Works great and even quieter than the original.
Took me about 20 minutes to install on a 30-gallon 5hp craftsman.

There is an air filter on them but it is almost completely ineffective just a piece of coarse foam that still lets dust past causing premature wear to the compressor piston

Apparently there are many compressor manufacturers that use the same design so the pictures do not reflect the sears compressor images
