For occasions when you need to get into someplace really small you may wish to get a dental mirror as a companion

If you just poke at the tabs with your finger or thumbs or even try to pull them apart with two hands this will not work

However if you cup the back in your palm and pull one tab back with the thumb on the hand youre cupping it with it pops right off

The upside of this is that you know the back isnt coming off by accident

None of this would have been necessary had the battery case been accessible from the outside but it looks like they were trying to minimize the number of parts at the same time they tried to make sure the battery cover would not come loose on its own

That said its completely usable as a lighted inspection mirror
