It does exactly what you imagine it would do, and in the right position you can use it as a back scratcher too! The indexing feature is useful. The ability to change the angle is endlessly helpful. It is so versatile.
Cons
The material used is very brittle and weak. As others note after smacking it with a hammer a few times it falls apart. Use a better quality steel; one that balances toughness and hardness and will stand up to pulling standard hardened deck screws.

I work in construction i purchased one with the old designed etiquette falling apart but this new design i highly recommend.
I have several of them in different lengths and my coworkers are very happy.

Very sturdy alows for fast pulling of boards without breaking or cracking was hesitant to buy crescent since they messed up the pass thru socket set which broke before i could even use the ratchet and for two years have not made it right but it was a deal and hard to mess up a pry bar
