A good, but gritty read. This is an insightful technique and one i think means this book has even broader appeal. This book had so much more depth to it than other books of the same genre which usually feel tired and lazy.

This is a thrilling story from the very first page, rapidly gathering pace as the story unfolds. But there’s so much to enjoy. I am actually speechless.
Lisa is a single mother to a stroppy teenage daughter, ava. Ava rescues a child and her and lisa are featured in the news.
It’s also the story of her daughter, ava. Ava has a secret that not even her best friends know.
Cons
If this is truly as good as all the rave reviews say it is, why do i feel so let down? The themes are tired from overuse. Publishers want to sell books so they are hyped to the max and then when you read them, they are a total let down.

Quality
With the summer holiday season fast approaching this is definitely a book to pack in your suitcase.
I did get a little confused with the timeline jumping, although i appreciate that it was important for the story.
I approach a book with the claims ‘warning: will keep you up all night’ with some trepidation.

I’ve had lulls where i can almost let go of the past but then a random moment like this triggers a panic and i realise it will always be there like hot tar glued to the lining of my stomach
