Pros & Cons
Pros
Eye relief on this unit is better, also due to the lower magnification. Glass gets a little foggy on higher magnification but i expected that for the price. Clear as a bell and the adjustments are smooth and tight. The lens is crystal clear, really br... Read More
It has an adjustable objective and the reticle is very clear at 2nd focal plane use. The adjustable objective goes down to 10yards, so keeping the parallax on point is no issue whatsoever. The 4-12x40 has a little better crispness and clarity, probabl... Read More
The vortex is way lighter than a redfield 3x-9x or bushell 4x-12x. The vortex has a red dot and 18x zoom. I did contact vortex to make sure that it would hold up to the violent double recoil of a magnum air rifle.
Overall super solid scope. The scope has a great finish and every thing that turns does so with a good solid feel.
Originally mounted on my new savage high country chambered in 6. It is now on my savage 116 chambers in 30-06. Went on a tikka t3x 6. Mounted up and gave me a 3 group at 100 yards mounted with $10 (also amazon) rings on sig shr-970 300 winmag.
Cons
Ao adjustment is very tight, while the zoom adjustment is loose. This pos crossfire ii junk is not worth your time and money. Not vortex.
Highlights
Quality
I am shocked by the quality and clarity of this scope!
This is the 3rd vortex i have purchased and am more than satisfied with the result.
Provides bank breaking quality without actually breaking the bank.
Price
You get a lot of scope for a very reasonable price.
Competitiveness
Seems to be holding up well on a large bore rifle
I read the manual to see what the notches are for a 22lr bullet drop etc.
But it does make it more enjoyable shooting a new rpr 22lr though.

Many of the really cheap scopes have no parallax adjustment and they tend to be set at 100 yards and beyond which makes them blurry and out of focus at best
