Pros
The best part is that it is quiet, which is highly recommended for a peaceful work environment. The build quality of the product is excellent, and it feels very sturdy and durable.
Boosting startup times on your laptop or pc is as simple as swapping out your hdd for a solid state version. When i now use the ssd it takes 15 seconds.
Crucial website has the software to clone the old harddisk. Replaced the hdd of my old macbook along with 16g ram and its brand new again. It fits my old laptop very well.
The transfer rate is lightning fast and the storage capacity is more than enough for my needs. Each pair is setup as raid-0 on windows 10.
Cons
Read/write speed only 1/2 of advertised. Not found through disk manager or any other utility accessed on the command line. Could not read the drive at all. It's even worse than many hdd!
Would not send a replacement or a refund. Standard practice is to send a new replacement free of charge and pay for return shipping of the defective unit.

Crucial makes excellent drives, and i can rely on them.
It will no longer get ssd speeds, but only transfers files at very slow speeds (slower than usb 2) even after reformatting.
Hard drive easy to load and sped up computer amazingly.
Price
This is likely the best budget ssd for price:reliability.
So i purchased this crucial 2tb ssd (for $150) to replace the mechanical drive.
Twice as much storage space at a fraction of the cost.
(it's gone up $30)i work in a shop, and we sell a lot of ssds.
Competitiveness
Excellent value at this price and compared to more expensive brands.
Adata replaced them with a different model, and one of those went bad as well (out of ten drives).
Having used all sorts of off brands, crucial gives some reassurance with it's brand and its higher tbw for similar cost.
I have had the best luck with crucial, kingston (budget drives), samsung and western digital.

So i have been using a mechanical 2tb hard drive in my bench pc for backing up peoples files and storing images for clients until i can restore them

Its been working ok but a few weeks ago i had to back up files for a client and they had about 500gb of files and pictures and backups on their storage drive

I started doing the backup from a usb 3 dock and it crawled

Later i tested moving a large amount of data from my boot ssd using the same method and it was in the hundreds of mbs
