The reliability and quality of crucial products are well-known. The mx500 lives up to its reputation. Would definitely recommend.
The manuals and online documentation are great for a newbie doing this. Just need a sata to usb lead and follow the instructions. Installed into my older imac in about 1 hour. Fitted into my daughter's acer laptop within 20 minutes.
Cons
I suspect a faulty batch and amazon has escalated the problem. Sent it back, got a refund then went to work on the problem i was left with. Bought a replacement from a different reputable manufacturer.
Only conculusion i can draw is there the drive is either faulty or has compatibility issues with my amd setup. Rebooted and the drive could not be seen but the bios on any channel so on to the rma. Turns out my ssd is faulty and apparently always has ... Read More

However this hasnt been a £200 drive for quite some time i bought this for £99 in april 2023 and ssds are coming down in price consistently
