You let it soak for 24 hours, there's a pic of what it looks like after that. Then you remove it and wrap in paper towels for the moisture to drain.
Cute decoration. They love science and crafty types of things, so this will be perfect for them.
The hardest part for my daughter was waiting. It's simple to use and requires little supervision. This also requires a bunch of patience, of course.
This is a great gift that does not require batteries, has flashing lights or any technology. I think that makes it worth the value, as it isn't just a disposable you get a reward for the work! Gave this to my 7 year old niece.
The kit comes with 3 of these crystal wishing flowers and everything (except the boiling water and paper towels) that you need to do it. Even the mixing cups and stir sticks!
