Pros
Introduced the bubbler today to my 8000 gallon koi pond. The bubbles are of good quality without being a roiling volcano. My koi seems happy and it gives me the comfort knowing my koi and my water lilies are getting enough oxygen.
The device feels and looks to be made with quality materials, including the hose. The plate the aerator is mounted to is heavy, that along with the weighted hose is necessary. It's physically heavy too and has no problem sinking down to my 3' deep bot... Read More
The only downside is the pump needs to be kept dry. Long air hose makes placement of pump easier.
The pump is quiet, and i had zero problems with install. The compressor is really quiet and not a bother at all. Helps keep things stirred up and moving.
Cons
The unit is very simple but is undersized to what i was expecting. The worst part is email and communication with airmax. They simply refuse to replace or warranty it. Really frustrating and not a way to treat people.
The pump itself is very quiet and is drowned out by the sound of the water rippling. It says rated for up to 4000 gallons, but i run it in 2000, and the oxygen levels are miserable.

I used to aid in my well water aeration tank it’s made a huge difference in my water quality
Very straightforward works very good & i highly recommend this aeration kit
The pump itself is very quiet and is drowned out by the sound of the water rippling.
The one we replaced was one with four round stones and lightweight tubing but it has nothing on this one!
Price
Wasn't sure if i wanted to spend the extra money but this is definitely one of those purchases you get what you pay for.
More $$ on top of the cost of the aerator but the it does the job nicely and i'm glad i bought it.
Bigger air pumps are pricy so i can't comment of value but the previous pet store pumps don't hold a candle to it.

Arrived very quickly, went right to work as needed!

Installation was very simple and i was up and running within 10 minutes of unboxing.
Competitiveness
I have a pumped waterfall system, but airmax koi mini made a huge difference.
This pump seems more powerful than any of the others i've tried in the past.
