On that note however if you remove the lid just after the kettle has been boiled to refill it the handle position and shape of the kettle channel any steam in the kettle straight towards your hand if youre not careful

However ive had 2 now and ive had to replace both of them at around the 2 year mark as the plastic handle for opening the lid becomes so brittle with all the heat cycles it eventually snaps opening the lid

It has also lasted a lot longer 2 years than the other electric kettles i have bought in the past that noticeably leaked and burned out within a year

As with other reviewers i noticed the plastic window cracked but did not leak and did not obstruct the view of the water level
