The water just sits in the reservoir. If you do not completely clean and dry the grinder, the bean shoot and the opening to the carafe each use the grounds clog the shute.

Very easy to operate and works well.

This is actually our third coffeemaker of this model; each has lasted through daily use at least three or more years.

One can simply press a button, walk away, and come back a few minutes later to a perfect pot of coffee from freshly ground beans.

Price

This was the least expensive one i found, and the coffee is good.

Competitiveness

We use it primarily on vacations, as it travels easier than our larger, heavier, daily use grind/brew coffee maker.

At this price point, you can not buy a better coffee maker.
