Pros & Cons
Cons
Unbelievably shoddy work all round. No electric connection. Looks are deceiving. It stops working after 2-3 months or even sooner in some cases.
Water overflows the lid of the rice cooker. The steamer tray design is interesting, but with it being raised above any insulation adds yet another problematic element to it's ineffective rice cooking abilities.
The rice is barely passable as edible. The aroma and flavor are muted from the lack of moisture *. Just like the original rice cooker, the cook/indicator switch does nothing.
My 3rd batch was soggy and gooey. Soaking rinsing adding butter or olive oil same result. Then once you sit down to eat, the rice comes out dry and unappealing.
Highlights
Quality
It’s simple to operate: no on-off switch, just plug it in and it’s on; two settings, cook and keep warm, simple to clean.
It's just the right size for a single person, and at 825 watts, it heats water very quickly, so i can prepare my meals faster than before.
All of a sudden the cook switch started popping back up after only a few minutes.

Shipping
So, the minute it arrived we ripped it open and made rice.
Competitiveness
I had this same 8 cup cooker for 10 years, so of course i replaced it with the exact same brand and model.
I tried a few rice cookers of similar size and none compared well to this one.
