Pros
This coffee maker combines a regular coffee maker and a k-cup into one unit. The combined unit takes up less space on the counter. I feel it should have it's own on/off switch.
Thermal carafe keeps coffee drinkably warm for 4+ hours. K-cup brewer also useful to serve up hot water for most green and herbal teas (165 degrees for 5 mins) this way the coffee remains steaming hot after 3-4 hours.
Thermal carafe keeps coffee good and hot for over two hours. Not nearly as bad as my old cuisinart glass carafe.
Cons
Cuisinart coffee maker is not a good value for money. Strong brew option is good, but that's about all. Will try a ninja system instead.
The whole pot side of the coffee maker is very hard to fill with water without a funnel. Even with a funnel, get occasional pools of water. Secondly, filling the water is pain the in neck. It spills grounds all over the place.
The k-cup discharge has a tendency to spittle and splash all round the coffee cup. Coffee grinds splatter everywhere. The needle seems too large also, and when it punctures the k- cup, grounds get in the coffee.

Packaging/appearance
Only issue was if you’re getting it as a present it comes in a box that says exactly what it is.
You can use pre-packaged k-cups, or they include a cone that you can add your own espresso and brew a stiff single serving.
Competitiveness
I only use cuisinart and i feel this brand is highly superior to k!
Compared to the k brand, which is more money, this brand lasts much longer!
I recommend cuisinart for sure, but prefer the glass carafe model.
