Pros & Cons
Pros
Turned 60 pounds of apples into applesauce with my cuisipro food mill. To make a family sized batch of mashed potatoes for an evening dinner, i find it quicker and easier to use my ricer. The blade sweeps over the bottom fairly efficiently, although r... Read More
This is a sturdy mill. It holds a generous two quarts of food product. The padded hook on one side and a long padded handle on the opposite side, it fits on a wide range of bowl/pan sizes.
The parts are all shiny and smooth, and they glide effortless across each other. Seems like a solid product that works well and is reasonably priced. Has a nice feel with good hand placement, rolled edges and overall comfort when in use.
It is much easier to work than my old clunker. The disk, perforated with colander like holes strains the food and separates out the unwanted bits. There are three mill sizes, 2 millimeters, 3 mm and 4 mm.
Love the ease of use. No problems since. I'm not an expert so only time will tell. Blessings to all.
Cons
I see no way for the handle knob to come off. The design itself is poor in that there is little to counter the inherent rotational motion of the scaper against the bowl.
If you can a lot (several times a year and in large quantities) and make gnocchi, this mill is inefficient and very frustrating. Was trying to make mashed potatoes. There are many complaints on amazon on this poorly designed scraper blade.
Highlights
Quality
Well made, well engineered, and the perfect size.
After thoroughly cooking in a pressure cooker for about two hours, the consistency was perfect and after cooling down the mill did its job.
I processed my fermented ceyenne peppers into bottled sauce in minutes instead of hours using only this tool and a funnel.
I just got rid of my made-in-france moulinex food mill after i guess about 10 years of use.
Price
For the price i paid i think it should have come with some means of securing the bowl.
In retrospect, i think i would have been just as happy with a less costly product.
Shipping
It arrived at my door in no time at all.
Packaging/appearance
I am able to purchase boxes of 'seconds/imperfect' tomatoes at a veggie stand and i made 13 qts.
Competitiveness
Better than smaller ones (they are pointless, more work); better than other manufacturers - tight pressure, 3 differently sized... Read More
It is magnitudes better than my previous lower cost mill and is incredibly hard to fault, even after a lot of use.
The cuisipro is so superior to the other two food mill's that i have owned that i am regretting the money i wasted on inferior products.

Thats what i expect will happen with the cuispro eventually but it is built more sturdily than the moulinex overall
Posted by a reviewer on Amazon
I was constantly manually scraping the moulinex

I think the cuisipro should come with a few of these clampon arms though since they will inevitably break of get lost
Posted by a reviewer on Amazon
I also wish for more stability when using this mill
Posted by a reviewer on Amazon
The two arms provide a strong base to rest against but the mill does rock sideways since there is no third anchor point
