I scoop the flour from the sack and then repeatedly pull the trigger on the handle which forces the flour through the sieve sifting it well
It is designed to hang over the side of a mixing bowl so that flour can be poured into it prior to sifting but then so is a standard sieve so i would recommend buying this only if you use large bags of flour
