I got the upgraded cuk version with more ram and bigger ssd hard drive i spent extra money upfront because my old laptop was lacking these things when i first bought it and i found myself upgrading those things anyway later on so why not just get it right away and not deal with upgrades later

However the hp omen 17 is the better system by a significant margin a little bit better touchpad much better boot operations where the very sluggish gigabyte bios system takes forever to actually start the boot process and a better debugged set of drivers the caveat there being that the gigabyte system was running windows 7 while this system is running windows 10

Synaptic touchpad is significantly better compared to the gigabyte 37x option and in particular i really appreciate some of the synaptic features such as ‘momentum’ and several of the better customizable scrolling options but see discussion

Despite not having motherboard graphics when minimally loaded the gpu isnt nearly the power hog and battery life waster that previous gen envy systems were prior to the instantiation of dual graphics cards were you might be lucky to get 2 hours
