Pros & Cons

Pros

It is very well made and packaged to protect it from getting scratched. Looks great on the rig. Very strong and sturdy.

Seems pretty stout, i'm confident it'll pull a trailer with no problem. The build quality is solid not like american made solid but like a 1950s cadillac solid the truck will rot before the hitch. A quality hitch for a great deal.

Bolts right on a 2004 ford ranger xlt shorty cab. Fit rite in my 98 ranger. Hitch fit perfect on my 2003 ford ranger.

Spare tire still fits good under the truck. Only drawback is if you have a full size spare tire it will have to be removed for the hitch to fit. Did other things with spare tire and trailer electrical wiring so took a little longer.

Quality

All the hardware was included and this was a great deal for the quality of the hitch.

I was very pleased with this product.

The build quality is solid not like american made solid but like a 1950s cadillac solid the truck will rot before the hitch.

This did require drilling holes in my frame which was easy with the right drill bits.

Shipping

Got it really fast 3 days early.

I can understand shipping it this way if it was coming from my local amazon distribution center on one of their vans, but now c...  Read More

Packaging/appearance

It seems well built and sturdy, and shipping packaging was enough to prevent any scratches to the coating.

Also, amazon just shipped it via ups as-is with the hardware taped to the hitch and a label slapped on the hitch itself; no box...  Read More

Very minor downside: i had to remove the full-size spare tire and reinstall it after installing the trailer hitch.

Competitiveness

Fit perfect on my 2006 mazda b2300.

Put it on my 2008 ford ranger.

I will never again old-school trailer wiring!

If you're a novice installing this by yourself, it'll take a minute.

But the question is if that was the right way

Some of the other designs are ugly and very obtrusive

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

The bent tubular design conceals most of the hitch well underneath the vehicle the only part that you can really see is the receiver portion so it maintains the clean lines of the truck

I had to put my welding gloves on my long sleeve welding shirt and a full face shield along with eye protection underneath the face shield

Nothing like having red hot molten embers of steel landing on your arm and face

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

But seriously folks this would be very dangerous to do without the proper safety gear so if you dont have the safety gear or the tools to drill two holes in your frame then you better climb underneath your truck and make sure that all four holes are present

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

Obviously youre going to have the two most rearward holes as they are used to hold the bumper in place

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

There are two more holes that either need to be drilled or should already be there in front of the rear most bumper bracket bolts
