The two connections are plug and play from the back under the storage compartment. I chose to drill the hole, sand and that's the best option in my opinion because you don’t need to sand any nuts or screws and you can put that screw where you want it.... Read More

Great seller, quick delivery of item. Saved me $100's compared to the dealership. Oh and buying it on amazon saved me about thirty bucks.

Inserted the two fuses (one on the connections and one under the hood). Fuses were provided. Cleaned it all up with zip tie which were also provided. Lastly find the correct place to install the included fuse.

It plugs right into the factory connectors. If you do run it under, the hybrid drain hole is in a different place from regular highlanders, or at least it was from the one i saw in a video for a non-hybrid. Easy to install in a 2009 highlander.

Cons

There are two fins on the black highlander connector that do not slide into the white curt connector. This stops the connection from being made and i had to drive on the freeway without lights in the night. Doesn't work for the 2018 highlander.
