Item came in two days everything fit and i'm very happy with it.
The instructions included with the hitch are black and white photocopies that are worthless in that regard.
I installed one just like this on a prior outback, so was familiar with the general steps.
Shipping
In reality, this a mostly indestructible object so more likely to break other things during shipping.
Packaging/appearance
Not 5 stars because the packaging was damaged and part of the hitch was sticking out of the box.
Competitiveness
I purchased this for a 2016 subaru outback, which it does fit just fine.

So i took it to a mechanic who promptly told me it was the incorrect hitch not true

Second go on the curt website so you can actually see what part of the heat shield they want you to trim off

Last drilling the second holes at 12 worked fine for me
