Specifically if you tell the ups to shut off its outputs either using a command over usb or the frontpanel button then usb communication fails when the output is turned back on either ac power is restored or turned on again by the front panel button

This is mostly only important during testing of an automated monitoringshutdown system since when the power really goes out either it comes back early so the output doesnt get turned off or the battery gets drained and all attached systems get power cycled either when the battery fully runs out or in a nice coordinated way via the monitoring software such as nuts shutdown

In this case since the monitoring pc is rebooted when the ac is restored so the communication issue isnt observed
