Pros & Cons
Pros
Cyberpower pr2200lcd protects home theatre and audio gear during power outages. Automatic voltage regulation is an important plus if you experience regular voltage drops. Run times obviously vary with load, but in my cases several hours is typical - o... Read More
The ups uses a line-interactive topology instead of an on-line topology. It's hard to find a high va/watt ups that's affordable. The ups is extensively configurable, and delivers clean power.
The unit is deceptively heavy so be sure to squat lift it! These units have great diagnostics too. It weighs 55 lbs.
Cyberpower uses a nema l5-30p that is sometimes used for large-draw appliances like driers. It runs on 120v but it needs 24a and an appliance outlet. The good news is that you can get an electrician to install one of these outlets for around $200; not... Read More
Cons
It weighs 120 lbs, and single wall cardboard with some styrofoam endcaps isn't going to protect this from damage during shipping. The packaging materials used by cyberpower are not sufficient to protect an item of this weight.
If your item comes in damaged i strongly suggest you open it up and check for damage to the motherboard before ever plugging this beast in. No continuity to the ground prong (not good) many meg-ohms to the hot and neutral (normal, as expected) no wiri... Read More
Highlights
Quality
Very solid unit, has already corrected multiple surges / power fluctuations, no issues at all so far (~3 mo.
Great product, my gaming rig needed a larger battery back up and surge suppressor.
These devices don't aggregate too much wattage, and the unit shows i should get close to eight hours during an outage.
I don't consistently use 1500w (the peak power output of my psu), i rarely break 1000w except under full load, but when the pow... Read More
Price
I have a $4500 pc that i want to protect from power problems, particularly outages and bounces.
99 so that would argue for a delivered power of 1500*0.
Just wish i could have purchased for the pre-covid price of about $350 instead of over $500, but it is what it is.
It seemed worth the price to me.
Shipping
Cyberpower pr1500lcd received in perfect working order, no shipping damage, shipper usps, or loose components.
So far this ups has done all i need it to do.
(apcs were lucky to get a half hour.
(unfortunately, it's already shipped, so i'll end up returning it as soon as it hits the porch.
Packaging/appearance
Great unit, arrived in secure packaging and the control panel is easy to navigate and use.
Unit was well packaged and arrived in good shape.
The packaging is made of very flimsy styrofoam and was broken upon receipt (no doubt dropped).
)regarding reviews mentioning cheap packaging: maybe, but for me the cyberpower box was inside a larger box.
Competitiveness
It's really great compared to tripplite and apc.
I respect them a lot more than apc that i've used at work for many years.
Also, apc isn't what they used to be these days, so don't get hung up on name branding.
The cyberpower pr2200lcd is a big, heavy, expensive (for home office) ups, but it gets the job done and safeguards my significa... Read More
