A switch needs to be physically pressed to manually bring the unit up. The backup battery just dies and the computer gets shut off the same way it would if it was plugged into the wall.
Didn't want to play around with shipping etc. No warranty available.

The battery lasts for 2 hours and 43 minutes with the cameras and modem plugged in with the power off.
I'd reccomend purchasing this along with a hardwired security system so that a power failure doesn't render the cameras useless.

Although to be honest i have also accidentally tested the system a few times as i renovate… when i turned off the power to parts of the house to work forgetting that the computer is on the same circuit

No idea how long the battery will hold up for and what other features it has i dont have it connected to a computer

I am forced to keep our landline by a greater power so when bell said hey you gotta move to fibre or you will lose phone service i didnt really have much choice but to switch
