They make slides effortless and blister-free. They are smooth, responsive, and even across the fretboard.
Cons
There is a lot of cloth wrapping between the ball and the metallic part of the string. Even if you put the cloth wrap on the nut and put the string on the guitar the metal part does not reach to the nut. Makes it impossible to set up the instrument.
Defect rate is just unacceptable. For $30, i really hope i can get this sorted out with daddario. Not worth the price whatsoever.

If you’re looking for a bright flat wound string you might want to split the difference with the daddario half rounds.
Packaging/appearance
It even had a nice slap sound fresh out of the pack but of course that will die down over time.
The packaging could be much clearer on the labeling.
I rolled the dice this time and bought used strings here on amazon, and they were still sealed in the plastic packaging.

These are so different than regular round wounds.
To be fair though, i have never tried any other flatwounds.
But ive found that to be the case with most flatwounds.
