My particular use is on a hollow body jazz box with active preamp, piezo tune-o-matic bridge and barcus barry insider. I like that because i let the guitar and amp do that. Thinking about putting them on my old acoustic too.
They have mellow sound and a slightly stiff feel - not too much but they are not wishy-washy feeling. Great warm, balanced tone.
Cons
Disappointed, and apprehensive about reordering. Wrong product description. Never had this problem with elixirs.

Price
These are good strings for a very reasonable price.
Competitiveness
It's a little different than the round wound strings.
Not sure why it took me so long to try out flatwounds.
The only strings slightly better than the chromes are thomastic-infeld jazz swings at 3x the cost.
