Pros & Cons
Pros
These are the go-to jazz strings, although most players opt for the heavier ones. They are easy to bend and they stay in tune quite well. The third highest string is wound, which is unusual, but they all feel and look just like like unwound strings.
They have mellow sound and a slightly stiff feel - not too much but they are not wishy-washy feeling. Great warm, balanced tone.
The squeak is a far distant memory. These strings have a smooth feel that makes it easier to play barre chords.
Cons
Complete trash. Disappointed, and apprehensive about reordering. Never had this problem with elixirs. Will be going back to using thomastik-infelds & pyramids.
Mediocre strings. Detuned my string lightly to adjust the bridge saddle and retuned up. Third string unravels after only a couple hours.
Highlights
Quality
Excellent quality combined with mellow jazz tone sound.
Yet with a les paul with the beautiful humbucker plugged in a jc-120, you get plenty of brightness.
Price
Great price, just right for a thinline jazz guitar.
These are good strings for a very reasonable price.
Competitiveness
The only strings slightly better than the chromes are thomastic-infeld jazz swings at 3x the cost.
It's a little different than the round wound strings.
