Pros & Cons
Pros
These are great sounding strings. They sound good and easy to install. It is important when stringing your instrument to press down on your strings occasionally in between tightening them while tuning.
Cons
The outside packet of the strings really in bad shape. The first string i tried to put on the loop end came undone before i even put pressure on the string. Unfortunately the end loops gets on wind and the strings keeps popping off.
The tone on these is awful. They feel really rough under your fingertips. It has a really dull metal sound. It's sort of like * a comb.
Highlights
Quality
The immediately improved the sound of my banjo, and were much brighter and had more volume than the original strings.
They have always proven to be of good quality.
The bend messed up the flow of the string around the peg, and left a slight bulge.
Fitting them into a pin bridge guitar is a pain and problematic.
Price
Great strings for the price i paid on black friday.
Great value, i bought a couple more sets.
For this price, i will never buy anything else.
Purchased 2 for the almost normal price found at other online retailers.
Shipping
These strings arrived quickly and installed easily.

The only acceptable set i’ve found are the john pearse irish tenor guitar 1340 set which should give you roughly equivalent tension to the 1036 tuned cgda in a martin style tenor guitar
