I changed fairly recently, so i can't speak to the longevity, but i am pleased with the strings.
Good quality, nothing to complain about except ease of keeping spare singles in the case.
D'addario makes a top quality guitar string.
Price
The price is way better than my old favorite coated strings.
They sound great, and specially on the xl line what you get for the price is a great deal, i 100% recommend it!
Competitiveness
I have a hard-tail ibanez electric and an acoustic fender dreadnaught, and these strings sound amazing on both of them.
They offer the best perfomance for the price.

I got a short scale squier and the strings it came with were so thin it would bend even just making a regular chord
