Price
The price was right, often less than half of other strings i considered.
Very satisfied with these strings and the price.
Packaging/appearance
Low end is very clear fresh out of the package and doesn't get muddy like with power slinkys.
Competitiveness
Both sound and feel great, but i can't justify the higher price when i cannot tell the difference.
Have used exl 170s for at least the last 20 years.
I think they're a pretty good all-around string that can handle a variety of styles in the hands of a novice.

Thicker sounding when i want it they sound like a piano if i want it left me smiling at the tone that was coming out of the crappy rehearsal studios rig
