Pros & Cons
Pros
D’addario’s exp coating to increase durability and a rich tone. They make this guitar stand out from the herd and they really show off the sound that's only possible with a maple body. These sound very good, both a mixture of bright and warm. In addit... Read More
When they start to get dull i drop it down to open c# and they regain a bit of their twang. Lasts longer than uncoated strings, but not as long as elixirs.
Cons
They need to get their quality control figured out before other customers move on. I'm done for now.
Highlights
Quality
I'm often complimented on how well my guitar sounds and i attribute some of that to the quality of d'addario strings.
Love these strings for the brightness and the sound quality is excellent on my takamine guitar.
Phosphor bronze usually dulls and loses sound quality after about 4 to 6 months, depending on how much i play.
Well, as far as the product, it's d'addario.
Price
The price is reasonable, and they last a good while.
And amazon's price is a good value for the money.
Elixir's were ok but not good enough to justify their high price.
I'm rating the strings, not the price, so i'll leave it at five stars.
Competitiveness
Plus these cost less than the elixer strings i have been using.
May try the extra-light strings next time or try one of the elixer brands.
I tried elixer and they are great, but they are more expensive and don't last that much longer.
However, they’ve upgraded exp to xt, offering twice the protection of exp across all six strings.
