Pros & Cons
Pros
They are brighter than phosphor bronzer but warmer than the 80/20. I use them on a solid wood 12 fret parlour and they sound and feel amazing.
The ‘light’ gauge is not so heavy that it chokes the guitar out but heavy enough for a thicker sound! Every other string brand does as it says on the packet.
The richness of bronze with the high end of nickel produce something very close to the sound i want. They bring out the tonal quality of the guitar. Changed the sound and playability of my guitar.
Cons
The flimsy 1st/2nd strings are really way too pliant for playing artificial harmonics on. Single plucked note sustain seems fine, but when hammering on, the notes simply die, rather than ringing.
Highlights
Quality
I bought 2 other sets before this but didn't like them so am really pleased with these.
Having tried numerous makes in the past few years i now only use d'addario as quality and sound are both excellent.
Very happy with the quality of the strings, the feel and the sound.
If you have a mahogany/spruce guitar these would be my first choice along with the monel strings, they bring out more of the fundamentals.
Competitiveness
Much better sound than the cheaper ones i bought before.

That slightly dead sound of the base strings that they had dead less resonance

One caveat though these are not the regular ‘variation on a theme’ d’addario strings and the sound and look of them is almost somewhere between acoustic and electric

I thought 10 strings would be way to light for an acoustic

If you have a good balanced guitar and you’re a decent player they’ll sound great if you have a £100 yamaha or mini taylor then they won’t really add anything to it
